  1. Read “Young Goodman Brown” by Hawthorne
  2. Using the prompt provided, write a rough draft essay for Red Badge of Courage
  3. Write an author biography for Nathaniel Hawthorne
  4. Read and prepare to discuss Puritan worksheet that was sent to your email
  5. Complete vocabulary for Young Goodman Brown – we will starting a new system for the next two books’ vocabulary. You will type out each word, provide a dictionary definition, and then use it in a sentence. Young Goodman Brown vocabulary words will be sent to your email.

Extra Credit:
Read the short stories provided and submit a one-page reading response – 5 points each

  2. Read the Publisher’s Note (page. 195) at the end of The Great Gatsby.

  4. Write the rough draft essay for The Great Gatsby using the directions and prompt provided. The prompt is reprinted on the ‘Instructions for Assignments’ tab.
